Birth (Nitya) Yogas
The 27 Birth
Yogas (Dina, Nitya or Surya Siddhant Yogas) are based upon the distance
between the Sun and the Moon in the Birth Chart. If we take 360° and
divide by 27 we get13°20'. For each 13.20° a Yoga is formed. It is the
combination of the Sun + Moon that is at the core of our birth
(Atman/Jiva + Mind).
This yoga gives a clue to the innate quality of the individual coming into this creation.
These
yogas can help in predicting general behavior, temperament and other
characteristics of the native. Out of the 27 Nitya Yogas 9 are
considered inauspicious (astrologically).
To calculate Nitya simply add the longitude of Moon to the longitude of Sun and divide by 13 degrees 20 minutes.
N.B.
Other views (in italics) are included beneath the traditional view;
which, being somewhat brief, may not necessarily reflect the full intent
of the yoga.
